Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa)
This native wildflower is a hardy, long-lived perennial. the bright orange flowers are concentrated in compact clusters at the top of branching stems. The flowers produce a large quantity of nectar which attracts butterflies throughout the growing season. May take up to 2 years to establish. Doesn't transplant well due to its deep taproot. Blooms June to September.
